Spirit of Hostelling Annual Meeting and Party

Join us for an afternoon of food, friendship and fun. The event will feature a keynote address by Greg Benchwick, a skilled writer, photographer and editor who has penned articles for Lonely Planet, The San Jose Mercury News, The San Francisco Examiner, Fodor's, Adbusters and more.

Greg will be speaking on Trends in Sustainable Tourism. It's the buzz word of the day, but what exactly is sustainable tourism? How can the industry, and more importantly, you, travel green?

There will also be a silent auction, food, music and a special raffle.

Tickets are $20 for members, $30 for non-members

Hostelling International mission to help all, especially the young, gain a greater understanding of the world and its people through hostelling, means more than just a high quality, low cost place to sleep, it means we strive help a hosteller have a quality travel experience whether staying in our hostels or preparing to embark on a lifetime adventure.

The San Diego Council promotes safe, affordable and educational travel through a series of travel workshops throughout San Diego. Our speakers, well traveled volunteers, provide helpful information about traveling safely and on a budget. All of our workshops are FREE and open to the public.

Join travel experts from Hostelling International for a workshop providing valuable resources for the independent traveler on a budget.  Includes packing tips, personal safety, cultural awareness, and more. All workshops are free and open to the public, and begin at 7:00 p.m.
